Jimin of BTS Shines with Another Milestone in the U.S., Highlighting His Global Popularity

Jimin of BTS has once again demonstrated his global popularity with another remarkable achievement in the United States.

The interlude track “Interlude: Dive” from Jimin’s first solo album “FACE” has recently surpassed 100,000 units sold in the U.S., making all songs in the “FACE” album record over 100,000 units in sales in the country.

Jimin, who has earned the nickname “Jimmerica” (Jimin + America) due to his immense popularity representing K-pop in the U.S., achieved another milestone in June when the “FACE” album reached 500,000 units in sales. This earned him Gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), marking the first time a Korean-language solo album received this honor. It is also a record for the first non-English album by an Asian solo artist and the first EP album by a Korean solo artist to achieve this.

The title track of the “FACE” album, “Like Crazy,” qualified for RIAA Platinum certification as a single in August 2023, but the certification was delayed until December due to the agency’s late application. Additionally, Jimin’s solo songs from BTS albums, such as “Filter” with 700,000 units, “Serendipity Full Length Edition” with 800,000 units, and “Lie” with 820,000 units, have all achieved RIAA Gold certification.

Jimin’s pre-released song “Set Me Free Pt.2” and the OST “Angel Pt.1” from the movie “Fast X” are both on the verge of reaching 500,000 units in sales. “VIBE” has reached 275,000 units, “Promise” and “With You” each have 100,000 units, and “Closer Than This” has achieved 125,000 units in sales. In total, Jimin has 13 songs that have surpassed 100,000 units in sales in the U.S., showcasing his impressive music power.

Meanwhile, Jimin is set to release his second solo album “MUSE” on the 19th, about 1 year and 4 months after the “FACE” album, which included the Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit “Like Crazy.” The pre-released song “Smeraldo Garden Marching Band” has already entered the Hot 100 chart at No. 88 without any promotional activities, marking his fifth entry into the chart and signaling a positive reception for his upcoming album.
